Actress Humaira Asghar's final medico-legal reports raises new suspicions

KARACHI: The post-mortem report of model Humaira Asghar, whose body was discovered earlier this week from an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Phase VI, reveals shocking details, including that the death occurred 8 to 10 months ago.

According to the post-mortem report prepared by Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed, the body of the model was in bad condition as her nails were detached from her fingers, her face was unrecognizable, and the lower part of her body had completely decomposed.

Officials said that the post-mortem cannot determine whether she was sexually assaulted or not due to the condition of the body; however, samples, including hair and torn pieces of her shirt, have been sent for chemical analysis.

Furthermore, the medico-legal findings noted that bones began to disintegrate upon touch.  “Brain matter completely decomposed via autolysis, and Internal organs turned into a black-coloured mass,” the autopsy wrote.

Meanwhile, Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar’s brother and brother-in-law came to the city to take her body on Thursday. Her decomposed body was found in her Karachi DHA flat on July 8. The 32-year-old, who was most famous for her appearances in reality show ‘Tamasha Ghar’ and film ‘Jalaibee,’ was believed to have been killed six months ago by initial police investigations.

While Humaira Asghar’s father had refused to take her mortal remains and perform her last rites, her brother and brother-in-law have also come back to Karachi to take her body back, a police official disclosed.

The two have come to the city and will take her body to Lahore for the final rites, the SSP Karachi South said. The official disclosed that the family had no contact with Humaira Asghar after October 2024.
