RAWALPINDI: PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan on Tuesday said that her brother is in good condition after she was allowed to meet him, ending weeks-long speculations surrounding the former premier’s health condition.
Earlier today, Adiala jail authorities had allowed her and Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, to meet the former prime minister.
In a short talk with the media after the meeting, she said, “Imran Khan’s health is perfectly fine. However, he was very angry and said that they are subjecting him to mental torture.”
She further stated that she would speak to the media in detail after consulting with her other two sisters [Aleema Khan and Noreen Khan].
The development comes amid the PTI’s protests outside the Islamabad High Court and the Adiala jail today against restrictions on the former prime minister’s visitation rights. The party had claimed that the ex-premier’s family and party leaders had been denied access to him for the last several weeks.
According to sources, the jail authorities permitted the meeting in accordance with the jail manual that no political discussion or activity would take place during or after the interaction.
