ISLAMABAD: The meetings of the founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, with his family will remain suspended until February 8, according to the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said, “A jail cannot be used as the headquarters of a political party.”
Fazal Chaudhry accused the PTI of spreading “poison” against the institutions and their leaders.
According to Chaudhry, “The meetings between PTI’s leaders and Imran Khan at Adiala Jail used to be routine and were always acceptable to the government, but they have turned into political press conferences outside the Adiala Jail.”
“Imran Khan’s party began to devise stories that were later aired on Indian media,” he claimed.
Barrister Ali Zafar from PTI denounced the suspension as “a violation of human rights and national and international laws.”
“The person who is put under solitary confinement is nothing short of torture, as per the Constitution,” he said.
Recently, the water cannons were allegedly used against the sisters and supporters of Imran Khan, who protested outside Adiala Jail.
