NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday once again informed Pakistan of possible floods.
In the letter, India told Pakistan that there is a possibility of high-level floods in the Sutlej, Ravi and Chenab rivers. The water level in the rivers is likely to rise on August 27.
The Indian commission has issued an alert for Harike, Ferozepur, Madhopur and Akhnoor.

According to the warning issued by the Water Resources Department, there is a possibility of high-level floods in the Sutlej and Ravi rivers.
The Water Resources Department has sent a copy of the letter to the NDMA and other departments.
It is worth noting that India had earlier formally informed Pakistan three times about the threat of flooding in the Chenab and Sutlej rivers under the Indus Waters Treaty, which Delhi suspended during a four-day military standoff in May.
Under the decades-old Indus Waters Treaty, India is required to share hydrological data with its neighbour.
According to official sources, the latest flood warning was officially received by the Ministry of External Affairs from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad regarding high levels of flooding in the Sutlej river, and senior government officials on the other hand confirmed the development.
Earlier on Sunday, the Indian High Commission held its first major contact with the Pakistani Foreign Ministry after the recent war, providing information about the high level of flooding.
A letter from the Indian High Commission in Pakistan on Sunday said, “The High Commission of India in Pakistan presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Islamabad, and has the honour to convey the following flood data.

Following the warning, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab issued a flood alert, warning that the rising water level in the Tawi River is likely to affect the level in Gujrat and Sialkot via Chenab. The district administration has been asked to activate the flood monitoring and early warning system and ensure a coordinated response.
