Islamabad to get new Expo center

ISLAMABAD: The 13th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board was held under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa in which all the members of the board participated.

It was decided in the meeting that the plots allotted to the cinema industry of Islamabad for the construction of cinemas will be reconstructed as per the rules.

The meeting also approved the establishment of four new cinema sites in the city which will be built according to modern requirements and international standards. Additionally, the Board decided to keep the Resource Wing under Member Finance to improve finances.

Keeping the resource wing under member finance is aimed at achieving revenue targets more effectively. The resource wing will identify new sources of revenue, identify weaknesses in the revenue collection process, and introduce technology and modern practices in the financial and other affairs of the organization.

The meeting also decided to hire transaction advisory services for the IT Park in Sector G-10. The CDA Board approved the feasibility and design of the bus terminal from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and authorized the Public Private Partnership Authority to procure consultancy services for various projects.

The board also approved placing the City Sewerage Division under DG Water to further improve the sewage treatment system in Islamabad. These decisions are aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure and services.
