ISLAMABAD: The federal education authority has notified that all public educational institutions will remain open on Saturday with immediate effect to compensate for the academic loss due to the recent holidays.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued a notification in this regard on Friday. As per the notification, Islamabad Model School/Colleges will observe Saturday as a working day from November 30, 2024, to February 01, 2025.

“It is decided by the competent authority that Saturday will be observed as a working day in all the Educational Institutions working under the ambit of the Federal Directorate of Education w.e.f. 30-11-2024 to 01-02-2025,” it read.

“All educational institutions shall observe six working days with already notified official timings,” the notification read.

The decision came after the educational institution in the federal capital remained closed for significant days in the last two months due to the frequent state-level visits including the Shangai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and political unrest.
