ISLAMABAD: A female police officer in Islamabad has been suspended after an attack on a motorcycle delivery rider in Bhara Kahu area. The incident sparked outrage when the rider, identified as Aijaz, alleged that the officers beat him up for being late.
According to Aijaz, his phone was switched off, which delayed the delivery of the parcel. Upon arrival, she claims that the female officers verbally abused him, physically assaulted him, and repeatedly slapped him.
He added that despite calling emergency number 15, the police did not respond to his calls for help.
The incident left Aijaz seriously injured. Police sources confirmed that the Inspector General of Islamabad Police took immediate notice of the incident and suspended the officers involved.
A two-member committee has been formed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter. The investigation is underway.
