ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Thursday reshuffled high-level officers, assigning them different and additional charges with immediate effect.
The notification has been issued by the Office of the Inspector General Police Islamabad in this regard.
As per the notification, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Syed Ali Raza has been reassigned as DIG Security in Operations with the additional charge of DIG Headquarters in Operations.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, currently working as DIG Security and Headquarters, has been appointed as the new DIG Operations Islamabad.
In another key posting, Shoaib Khan has been appointed as SSP Operations Islamabad with an Additional Charge of SSP Operations Safe City relieving SSP Operations Arslan Shahzeb.
A day ago, the federal government removed Director General (DG) Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) Ahmad Ishaque Jahangir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General (IG) of Police Akhtar Hayat from their posts.
A notification issued by the Establishment Division stated that Ahmad Ishaque Jahangir has been officially removed from his position as DG FIA with immediate effect.
Another notification was also issued regarding the appointment of Zulfiqar Hameed, a grade 21 officer currently serving under the Punjab government, as the new IG KP with immediate effect.
