PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a groundbreaking move to provide free solar panels to 130,000 poor households across the province.
This ambitious project aims to address the province’s energy crisis by empowering families registered under the Ehsaas and Benazir Income Support Programmes with renewable energy solutions.
In the first phase of KP free solar panel scheme, a clear lottery system will choose 32,500 eligible families, with regions without power given precedence.
Disabled people, transgender people, orphans, and widows, as well as other vulnerable parts of society, will benefit from the program. Chosen recipients will be given a complete solar system including panels, controllers, fans, bulbs, and batteries.
