PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 20,000 for each child on the birth of the first two children in the budget. The aim of the financial assistance is to provide a healthy and safe start to life to the mother and child.
According to the details, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has stated in the prosperous budget 2026-27 that providing quality and timely medical facilities to the citizens is the first responsibility of the state, according to the vision of the founder PTI.
Implementing this vision, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish a new Peshawar General Hospital equipped with modern facilities in Peshawar. This project will reduce the pressure of patients on other major hospitals and provide better, timely and quality treatment to the public.
Healthy citizens are the strong foundation of a prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similarly, quality education is the right of every child.
To implement this vision, Chief Minister Model Schools will be established in every district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for boys and girls, where modern, quality and uniform educational facilities will be provided. A separate management board will be established to manage these schools. Investment in education is the strong foundation of a prosperous and educated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Ehsaas Maa program
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, giving the best health of mothers and newborns as the top priority of the government, has decided that under the Ehsaas Maa program, financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 will be provided to each child on the birth of the first two children, so that the mother and child can have a healthy and safe start to life. This is the concept of a welfare state, where every citizen is responsible for the state.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, while taking notice of the complaints related to the recruitment of doctors, said that the candidates have been directed to submit evidence regarding the violation of merit to the Chief Minister Complaints Cell by Sunday.
The decision will be taken in the next cabinet meeting based on evidence, while strict action will be taken against the guilty.
Earlier, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced that “Insaf Senior Citizens Card” is being introduced for senior citizens aged 60 years and above, under which senior men and women will be able to get free travel facility in BRT, health and education are the top priorities of the government, the highest investment has been made in the health and education sectors in the current budget.
Like in the past, significant reforms and improvements will be brought in these sectors this year too so that quality facilities can be provided to the people. Along with the continuation of the Sehat Card, the launch of “Jhundoon Card” is also an important initiative of the government, which will prove to be a big welfare gift for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will further strengthen the social security system.
