PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to impose a temporary ban on new construction activities at tourist destinations across the province.
The decision was announced on Tuesday by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary, who said that all No Objection Certificates (NOCs) issued earlier for construction have now been cancelled.
The step has been taken to preserve the natural beauty of these beautiful areas and promote environmental protection. Authorities are also reviewing issues related to encroachment and inadequate drainage system at these places.
The Chief Secretary has directed that tourism authorities of regions like Kaghan, Naran and other important tourist destinations should work strictly under the established master plan to ensure sustainable development.
