ISLAMABAD: A 13-member full-court bench of the Supreme Court Monday has started hearing the plea filed by the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) challenging Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) decision to deny it reserved seats.
The 13-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, comprises all the available judges apart from Justice Musarrat Hilali, who is not present due to a heart ailment.
On May 6, the Supreme Court (SC) suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) verdict on the allocation of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) reserved seats.
