ISLAMABAD: The district administration of Islamabad has announced a two-day public holiday on April 09 10 (Thursday and Friday).
According to the notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, April 9 and 10, 2026 (Thursday and Friday) have been declared local holidays within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory.
However, essential services will remain operational, including emergency services, hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and other key public service departments to ensure normal life continues without disruption.
The announcement is expected to affect government offices, educational institutions, and several private organizations operating within the federal capital.
Officials have also indicated that traffic management plans and security arrangements will be in place across major roads in Islamabad to avoid inconvenience to the public.
Meanwhile, residents are encouraged to stay updated through official notifications for any further developments or changes related to the holiday schedule
