Rawalpindi: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Capital Development Authority (CDA), local police raided the Bahria Town office of property tycoon Malik Raiz in Rawalpindi, here on Tuesday.
As per the details, officials of the country’s anti-graft watchdog conducted a joint operation to seize some documents related to the Al-Qadir Trust case from the Bahria Town office. A NAB spokesperson declined to comment on the raid, saying details would be released later.
The raid came days after Malik Riaz said he would not bow to any pressure tactics, saying he was under pressure to compromise.

A court directed Bahria Town to transfer Rs 65 billion to the central and Sindh governments, including funds sent from the UK and money collected locally. 35 billion rupees earmarked for the federal government was sent abroad in 2019 after a UK court unfroze a bank account of the Malik Riaz family.

The funds were linked to a £190 million case being investigated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Malik Riaz’s name came up in the £190 million case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
However, Malik Riaz denied taking any political side or being manipulated by any party. He claimed that since 1996, Pakistan faced repeated violence to introduce the latest projects.
