NADRA announces new facility for citizens

NADRA announces Eid-ul-Azha holidays schedule

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a great facility for citizens deprived of identity cards. A conditional facility has been provided to get an identity card without a birth certificate.

This facility is effective for first-time registration till December 31, 2026, in which the identity of the applicant will be verified through alternative methods instead of a birth certificate.

Married women of eighteen years or above who have a marriage certificate and have identity cards of their father, mother, and husband will have their biometric verification mandatory.

The conditions related to the husband will not apply to unmarried women. A man of twenty-four years or above who has an identity card of his father or mother and one of his siblings will have their biometric verification mandatory.

If both the parents and the husband are deceased, but there is a record in NADRA, then an exemption on biometrics will be available.

NADRA has said that for the first time, non-smart cards will be issued without any fee. Citizens should ensure correct information at the time of civil registration.

No changes will be made to the date of birth, date of birth, and place of birth. On the instructions of the Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control, NADRA has formulated a method of facilitation.

The NADRA Authority Board has also approved it. The facility has been provided under the NADRA Ordinance and CNIC rules and regulations.
