ISLAMABAD: A major development has come out regarding the new regulations for solar consumers.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has decided to hold a public hearing on the draft Consumer Regulations 2025. This hearing will be held on February 6, in which feedback from solar consumers will be sought.
According to the NEPRA announcement, suggestions have been received from various ministries, divisions and relevant institutions on this draft.
Now, keeping these views in mind, public consultation is being held. The authority has invited common citizens, solar consumers and other stakeholders to participate in this hearing.
The announcement states that the full copy of the draft Consumer Regulations 2025 is available on the NEPRA website. Interested persons can study this document and submit their suggestions and concerns during the hearing.
It may be recalled that earlier, the Lahore Electric Supply Company had temporarily stopped the installation of solar green meters. This decision was taken after the instructions of the Ministry of Energy. Although NEPRA had previously permitted the installation of these meters.
