Weekly holiday in Punjab schools
Earlier in June, the Punjab government announced two weekly holidays in schools across the province. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat declared Saturday as a weekly holiday, adding that the schools will now remain closed for two days a week.
Taking on X, the Education Minister said that the decision has been taken to provide relief to the teachers’ community in the province. “Teachers are serving the nation and we must take care of them”.
After the announcement of two holidays per week, the Punjab government has decided to extend the school timings for the remaining days (Monday-Friday). The government has yet to issue the schedule for school timings in Punjab.

The provincial government has not yet announced new school timings after the summer vacations. However, the minister earlier said that the timings will be increased from Monday to Friday so the decision of two weekly offs would not affect the education of the students.
