KARACHI: K-Electric will stop load-shedding operations during extreme weather conditions to provide continuous electricity service for city residents.
According to a spokesperson for K-Electric, a special operational strategy has been implemented to facilitate citizens during the intense heat.
The utility company announced that it will suspend all planned maintenance work during the heatwave to maintain uninterrupted power service. Officials reported that K-Electric currently operates 70 percent of its network without load-shedding, which provides the city with consistent electricity service.
The K-Electric official statement declared that when temperatures reach 45°C, the company will stop daytime “economic load-shedding” operations to prevent power outages, which would affect residents during extreme heat situations.
The utility company advised residents to take protective measures during the heatwave, such as limiting their time in direct sunlight and drinking more water to maintain their hydration levels.
