Over 120 PTI workers get bail in November 26 protest case

Sindh government grants permission to PTI to hold rally at Jinnah Ground

ISLAMABAD (Muhammad Ibrahim Abbasi): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted bail to over 120 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers arrested during the November 26 protest and ordered their immediate release.

A bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif heard the case. PTI lawyers including Ali Bukhari, Babar Awan, Murtaza Tori, and others appeared.

The court ordered the arrested PTI workers to submit surety bonds worth Rs 20,000 each.

In addition, the court also directed all the workers to submit an affidavit at the police station, in which they will have to assure that they will not commit such a crime in the future.

Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) announced the verdict on bail applications for 400 accused involved in cases related to the PTI protest on November 26.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain approved the bail for 250 accused across 13 cases while rejecting the applications of 150 others.
