KARACHI: In a tragic event, at least three people died and several others sustained injuries as a passenger bus in Karachi overturned on Friday, according to media reports.
The Bus overturned on the link road of Gulshan-e-Hadeed area, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a woman.
The rescue operation has started to pull the remaining passenger from under the bus.
The rescue 1122 team arrived on the spot to provide medical treatment to the injured and shifted the dead bodies to the nearby hospital.
Earlier, eight members of a family died as a Suzuki car fell into a deep ravine in the Matta Banda area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Kohistan district on Thursday, according to police officials.
The deceased were from Rawalpindi and returning from Gilgit-Baltistan when their car plunged deep down the mountainous area in Matta Banda, the police said.
The family includes four children, their father, mother, and two female relatives. The adults identified as Asif Iqbal, Maimuna Iqbal, Ayesha Siddique and Bushra Iqbal.
The bodies were rescued by the locals and the rescue team, 1122 staff, and were taken to the district hospital in Pattan.
“Arrangements are being made to dispatch the bodies to Rawalpindi,” said the rescue official.
