PAF pilot reveals secret mission that destroyed India’s S-400

PAF pilot reveals secret mission that destroyed India's S-400

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder added a new chapter to the war books, destroying India’s S-400 air defense system using hypersonic missiles in Adampur, and now a PAF pilot has shared the fascinating story months after the intense encounter.

In a conversation with Waseem Badami, Wing Commander Hammad Ibn Masood, the PAF officer credited with destroying India’s S-400 air defense system, shared details of the high-stakes mission that have never been heard before.

Recalling the events of early May, Wing Commander Hammad said that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was extremely secretive about its counter-attacks. Only select members of the squad and the top leadership were privy to the details of the mission.

“Even my wife had no idea what I had done,” he said. Like many Pakistanis, his wife learned of the PAF operation’s success through congratulatory messages. When she asked him where he was during the mission, Hammad hid the details, saying: “We’ll talk about that later.”

The officer’s revelations shed light on the PAF’s discipline in maintaining strategic planning and operational secrecy among its pilots, even from their families.
