ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the Former Ambassador Sardar Masood Khan said that Pakistan sacrificed 90,000 precious lives in the war on terror and suffered severe damage to the country’s economy during this time.
During the ABN News program, he said that Pakistan fought a full-fledged war against terrorism together with the United States and presented the best practices on the military as well as diplomatic front.
Sardar Masood Khan said that there has been a significant improvement in Pak-US relations since the beginning of 2025. In February, the United States approved a $400 million security package for Pakistan, while President Donald Trump openly appreciated Pakistan’s role during his address to Congress.
He was speaking at the Progan Debate @ 8. He said that in June 2025, the US leadership hosted a special luncheon in honor of Field Marshal Asim Munir, which is a clear example of the strength of Pak-US relations.
The former ambassador added that significant progress has been made in the areas of defense and intelligence cooperation in the recent talks of the foreign ministers, which is a very positive step for peace and stability in the region.
According to him, the United States has once again decided to make Pakistan an important part of the global dialogue, which is entering a new era in relations between the two countries.
