ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the missile and drone attacks on energy facilities in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia, which have been attributed to Iran.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement that Pakistan expresses deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in these attacks and extends its heartfelt condolences to the affected families.
The statement further said that Pakistan considers the violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as extremely serious and calls it a dangerous development for the peace and stability of the region.
Pakistan has expressed its full solidarity with the Saudi government and people in this difficult time and reiterated its unwavering support for the security of the Kingdom.
Iran praises Pakistan’s diplomacy in US-Iran ceasefire efforts
Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moqadam has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire between Iran and the US, calling it a significant breakthrough.
In his statement, the Iranian ambassador said that Pakistan’s positive and constructive diplomacy has played an important role in preventing tensions from reaching dangerous levels. He said that Iran values the efforts of its brotherly country, Pakistan, which are aimed at stopping American and Israeli aggression and establishing peace and stability in the region.
According to Reza Amiri Moqadam, Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to end the war have entered an important phase and further progress is expected in this regard.
On the other hand, according to a report by an international news agency, the peace plan presented by Pakistan has been received by the US and Iran, which consists of two phases. The first phase includes an immediate ceasefire, while the second phase includes a proposal for a comprehensive agreement.
According to sources, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has been in constant contact with US Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in recent days.
The plan calls for final talks in Islamabad after a 45-day ceasefire, while the proposed agreement may include points such as easing sanctions and restoring frozen assets in exchange for Iran’s assurances not to develop nuclear weapons.
