Pakistan Navy seizes narcotics worth $1million in Arabian Sea

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy has thwarted a narcotics smuggling attempt during a counter-narcotics operation in the North Arabian Sea.

A Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Moawin seized a large cache of narcotics estimated to be worth approximately one million US dollars on the international market.

The cache was being transported by sea to international destinations.

PNS Moawin with the help of naval air assets, conducted a boarding operation on a suspicious dhow, apprehending the narcotics which were hidden in the secret compartments of the vessel.

“The successful execution of this anti-narcotics operation demonstrates the Pakistan Navy’s vigilance, professionalism, and commitment to deterring and disrupting illegal activities, ensuring order at sea,” the DGPR Pakistan Navy said in a press release.
