ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to completely change the design of passports.
The colors and designs of public, official, and diplomatic passports will be changed.
According to sources, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has obtained permission from the Ministry of Interior regarding the change in the passport.
Sources say that the new passport will include pictures of historical and important buildings of the four provinces, while pictures of historical buildings will be printed on the inner pages.
The new passport has been issued for innovation and harmony in the system.
Sources say that the color of the outer pages of the passports will remain the same as before, the color of the inner pages of the passport will be changed.
The Passport Department says that the name of the mother will now be listed along with the father in the new passports, and modern security features have been included in the new passports.
According to sources, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports had sought permission from the Ministry of Interior to change the color and design of the inner pages of the passport.
