Pakistan weather forecast: PMD predicts rain on Independence Day

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain on Independence Day, with more rain expected from August 14 to 18.

According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon winds will enter the northern and central regions with intensity, while westerly winds are also likely to enter the northern regions of the country.

From August 14 to 18, rain with strong winds is expected in other parts of Punjab including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujarat and Gujranwala.

Rain is also likely in Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Nankana Sahib, and Chiniot.

Faisalabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab and Sargodha are likely to experience thundershowers.

Rain expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, DG from 15th to 18th August. Khan, and Rajanpur.

Thunderstorms are likely to occur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 14 to 18.

Other areas of the province including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Bajaur, Bunir, Kohat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are likely to receive rain.

Rain is likely to occur in different areas of Balochistan from August 15 to 18, while strong winds and rain are likely to occur in Sindh during the same period.

In the coastal areas of Sindh, the weather is likely to be cloudy with light rain, while from August 15 to 18, Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to experience strong winds along with rain.
