Pakistan weather update: PMD predicts more rains in the next 24 hours

Rain forecast for upper Pakistan, heatwave to persist in South

ISLAMABAD: PDMA Punjab has issued a fact sheet regarding the monsoon flood situation, according to which 86 mm of rain was recorded in Gujrat, 37 mm in Narowal and 28 mm in Multan during the last 24 hours.

According to the report, 27 mm of rain was recorded in Dera Ghazi Khan and 22 mm of rain was recorded in Jhelum during the last 24 hours, while Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Attock, Mangla, Murree, Layyah, Mianwali and Kot Addu also received rain.

More rain is expected in most districts of Punjab in the next 24 hours, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia says that the sixth spell of rain is likely to continue till tomorrow (Thursday).

He has issued instructions to the administration to remain alert and said that there is low-level flood in the Indus River at Tarbela, while the water flow is normal at Kalabagh, Chashma and Taunsa.

The flow of water in the Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi and Sutlej rivers is also normal, Tarbela Dam is 95% full and Mangla Dam is 62% full, the water level in Indian dams is 56%.

164 citizens died in various accidents due to rains, 3 citizens were injured in various accidents within 24 hours.
