WASHINGTON: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that Pakistan will continue to play an active role in reducing regional tensions and promoting a security framework based on cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir is on an official visit to the United States, where he met with representatives of American think tanks and strategic affairs. This meeting provided an opportunity to better understand Pakistan’s strategic vision.
According to the ISPR, the Army Chief held discussions with prominent scholars, analysts, policy experts, and representatives of international media organizations in Washington, in which Pakistan’s principled stance on regional and global issues was highlighted, while the Army Chief shed light on Pakistan’s perspective on terrorism.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also highlighted Pakistan’s extraordinary capabilities and invited international partners to explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors, including IT, agriculture, and mineral resources, while the long-standing Pak-US partnership was also reviewed during the discussions.
The Field Marshal said that some regional elements are using terrorism as a weapon of hybrid warfare. Pakistan has been at the forefront of the global war against terrorism, and Pakistan has made immense human and economic sacrifices for a safe world.
