LONDON: Youtubers seeking asylum in theUnited Kingdom are soom to face deportation as the UK government has announced a major asylum policy change that will reduce the period of initial refugee status by half from five years to 30 months.
The British government has passed far-reaching changes to its asylum laws. UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood presented a draft of the changes to the laws in Parliament, later published on the website of the UK Home Office.
Under this new policy, the period of temporary asylum will be only 30 months. As analysts say, this change will also affect YouTubers supporting the PTI and using political asylum to continue their activities against the institutions of this country.
At the end of this period, the situation of the refugees shall be reviewed comprehensively by the government, which can send them back to their homeland if their country of origin is found to be safe.
The political asylum period has been reduced from five years to 30 months under the new policy.
The period of waiting to get permanent residence has been reduced to 20 years. While the period of waiting for permanent residence has been reduced from five years to 20 years.
Most prominent among them are Adil Raja, Imran Riaz Khan and Sabir Shakir, who, according to analysts, will now face not only short-term uncertainty but also a long, arduous vetting process to achieve permanent residency.
