PESHAWAR: Commissioner Peshawar has announced to hold a charity T20 match for the people affected during the recent devastating flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which claimed 385 lives and injured 182 people.
In a recent report, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) confirmed that among the deceased were 299 men, 52 women, and 34 children.
Moreover, the report stated that a total of 1,398 houses had been damaged, 1,030 were partially destroyed, while 368 were razed to the ground, leaving countless families without shelter.
According to the details, many past and present players, including Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan, will participate in the charity match, which will be held at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.
The Commissioner said that the revenue from the match tickets and advertising money will be spent on the rehabilitation of flood victims.
He further said that famous artists, singers, and other celebrities will also be invited during the match to entertain the public.
In this regard, the Commissioner called a meeting after three days to finalize the organization and arrangements for the match.
