ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has announced a 24-hour general strike starting from 6:00 AM tomorrow across the nation.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, senior adviser of the association Malik Khuda Bakhsh revealed that the decision was made after consultation with the association on account of a meeting held between its committee and OGRA.
As per reports of the association, petroleum dealers have rejected the government’s proposed daily petroleum pricing formula on grounds that frequent revisions in the prices would prove difficult for the retailers.
The details of the strike indicate that all petroleum stations will close down from 6:00 AM tomorrow until 6:00 AM Friday, unless an agreement is made in the meantime.
Dealers have demanded that the government withdraw its proposed daily pricing formula and consult more on this issue before making any amendments to the pricing of the fuel.
