PM Shehbaz to visit Türkiye at Erdogan’s invitation

ISTANBUL: Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will arrive in Istanbul on Saturday at the special invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, where the two leaders will hold high-level talks on all important areas of bilateral relations.

The meeting is taking place at a time when the rapidly changing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the prospects for peace in the region, and global diplomatic activities are entering a new phase, which has given this meeting extraordinary importance.

The talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan will comprehensively review all aspects of bilateral relations, including defense, trade, investment, energy, information technology, industry, regional ties and strategic cooperation.

The two leaders will also consider how to further expand the strategic partnership established in the past years.

The meeting between President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also taking place at a time when the situation in the Middle East is the center of global attention in the context of the important NATO summit in Ankara next week and European and regional diplomatic activities.

The two leaders are expected to have detailed discussions on Gaza, Iran, Syria, the overall situation in the Middle East, regional security, counter-terrorism, energy security, and the changing global political landscape.
