PTI to Launch New Political Campaign for Constitutional Supremacy: Raoof Hasan

PTI to Launch New Political Campaign for Constitutional Supremacy: Raoof Hasan

Islamabad (ABN News): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hasan has revealed that the party has finalized plans to launch a new political campaign under the banner “Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan” (Movement for the Protection of Pakistan’s Constitution). The primary goal of this campaign is to restore constitutional supremacy and democratic values in the country.

Speaking on ABN News’ program “Sawal Se Agay,” Hasan stated that the decision is part of PTI’s broader efforts to push for political accountability and legal reforms. He also addressed speculation about the possible return of the PTI founder’s sons to Pakistan, clarifying that their visit—if it happens—would be strictly personal, intended only for meeting their father. He said the family has no political ambitions, and so far, even basic communication between the PTI founder and his sons has been limited, with only one in-person meeting allowed in the past six months.

Hasan questioned why the PTI founder continues to be denied access to family and even local party leaders, calling on the media to highlight this issue. He emphasized that the relationship between the founder and his sons is purely personal and should not be politicized.

Touching on legal matters, Hasan criticized the slow pace of proceedings in the May 9 cases, noting that the deadline set by the Chief Justice for completing trials is nearing, yet justice remains elusive.

He also announced a change in venue for PTI’s upcoming All Parties Conference, citing security and a more conducive environment for dialogue.

Raoof Hasan reiterated that the PTI founder has always advocated for dialogue and constitutional struggle, never supporting the closure of political avenues. He stressed that the current political crisis is not just a clash between parties but between mindsets, and that dialogue with the establishment remains possible—though capturing power by force is not the definition of politics.

He acknowledged that the country’s political instability stems from collective missteps and stressed the need for a new political approach. Criticizing ongoing political victimization, he questioned why, if power truly belongs to the people, key decisions are being made elsewhere.

Clarifying further, Hasan said the PTI founder’s sons, who reside in the U.S., are focused on their own lives and have no role in the party’s affairs. He firmly denied that PTI seeks any foreign support, emphasizing the party’s commitment to internal sovereignty.

Concluding, Raoof Hasan stated that real power lies with the people, and unless politics is freed from institutional interference, meaningful change will remain out of reach. He asserted that if free and fair elections are held in Pakistan, the PTI founder would win by a clear majority.
