PTI’s Salman Akram Raja claims 20 party activists killed in Islamabad operation

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Pakitan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Salman Akram Raja has claimed that 20 PTI supporters were killed during the state crackdown on PTI protests in Islamabad.

Salman said that full details of eight deaths are available, information about the others will be released to the media. Raja claimed that the protesters were directly shot and shelled.

PTI leader further alleged that hospitals in Islamabad have been instructed not to release records to the affected families.

The incident took place during the PTI protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on Tuesday night. Authorities launched an operation to clear the area, which lasted for one to two hours. The Red Zone was then evacuated from the protesters.

The PTI leadership claims that several deaths occurred during the operation, a charge the government denies.
