LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will pay an 8-day official visit to China next month, PRO to Chief Minister Punjab said in a press statement on Saturday.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz along with a high-level delegation will visit neighboring China from December 8 to 15 at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC).
The chief minister will visit Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong, where she will hold meetings with prominent leaders and important government officials, the press statement added.
“During her visit, discussions are likely to be held on the development in Punjab and the beginning of a new era of bilateral cooperation.”
The Department of the Central Committee of CPC sent a formal invitation to CM Maryam Nawaz, expressing the desire to increase mutual cooperation between the ruling party of China and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The statement further added that the invitation also expressed the desire to promote deep bilateral relations and further expand cooperation between Pakistan and China.
During the visit, both sides will review mutual cooperation on information technology, medical, industry, smog, and climate change. Business and trade relations between the private sectors of both countries will also be discussed.
“CM Maryam Nawaz will also be briefed about China’s development model, governance system, and promotion of bilateral cooperation during the visit,” the statement read.
