ISLAMABAD: Senior police officer, Rifat Mukhtar, has assumed the charge as 23rd Inspector General of the National Highways & Motorway Police (NH & MP).

Mukhtar, a Grade 21 officer, known for his diligence, integrity, and strong reputation, previously served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and IG of Sindh Police.

His appointment, effective immediately and until further orders, is made under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act 1973.

Upon assuming his new role as IG Motorway Police on Thursday, Mukhtar was greeted in Islamabad with a floral bouquet presented by local dignitaries.

Islamabad’s business community and government officials expressed their confidence in his leadership, stating that they expect improved performance from the Motorway Police and enhanced travel facilities for the Pakistani public.
