Ruling coalition withdraw from formation of constitutional court
ISLAMABAD: A consensus has been reached on the formation of a constitutional bench after the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) backed away from their stance about the establishment of a constitutional court.Sources privy to the development said that during the Special Parliamentary Committee on constitutional amendments draft, chaired by PPP lawmaker Khurshid Shah, the ruling bloc has agreed to withdraw from the matter of constitutional court on the proposal of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F).

The special parliamentary committee’s meeting has been adjourned till noon on Friday (tomorrow).

An agreement has been reached between all political parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the formation of a constitutional bench and it has been decided to bring all parties to consensus over the 26th conditional amendments draft.

The ruling coalition and Maulana Fazlur Rehman-led JUI-F have decided to consult PTI on a joint draft and Maulana will reach PTI leadership for consultation, sources said.
