KARACHI: The Sindh government has banned the use of disposal plastic water bottles in all government offices considering the environmental impact of disposal of mineral water bottles.
A circular issued by the provincial government on August 16 stated that the step was taken to pursue the concern expressed by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah during the Cabinet meeting held on August 15, 2024.
According to the directive, all offices under the administrative control of the Sindh govt will use jugs and glasses instead of single-use plastic bottles with immediate effect.
The circular stated, “It is directed to all concerned that the use of disposable mineral water plastic bottles must be done away with and replaced with jugs and glasses in all the offices under the administrative control of the Government of Sindh with immediate effect.”
