Sindh govt announces public holidays on June 25 and 26

KARACHI: The government of Sindh has announced two-day public holidays for its employees from the Hindu community to celebrate the Holi and Dulhandi festivals.

Sindh’s Department of Services and General Administration has issued a notification in this regard.

As per the notification, Hindu employees from all Sindh government, semi-government, and local council offices under the administrative control of the provincial government will observe March 13 and 14 (Thursday and Friday) as holidays.

The day of Holi signifies the arrival of spring, the victory of good over evil, the end of winter, and thanksgiving for a good harvest and it is also a festive day to meet, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and mend broken ties.

Sindh government reiterated recognition and respect for cultural and religious observances in the province, providing the Hindu community with the opportunity to partake in the celebrations of Holi.
