ISLAMABAD: The total lunar eclipse of 2025 will fall on 7 and 8 September 2025, according to available data on the official website of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon fall in a line so that the Moon enters Earth’s shadow. During a total lunar eclipse, the whole moon enters the darkest region of Earth’s shadow, which is called the umbra.
When the moon is inside the umbra, it looks red-orange. During such lunar eclipses, the moon is sometimes referred to as “Blood Moons” due to this hue.
Lunar Eclipse Timing
Penumbral eclipse will start at 20:28 PST on 7 September, while partial eclipse at 21:27 PST, total eclipse at 22:31, and will be maximum eclipse at 23:12 PST on the same evening.
But the total eclipse will conclude at 23:53 PST on 7 September, whereas the penumbral eclipse concluded at 01:55 PST on 8 September.
Where Lunar Eclipse be Visible?
Lunar Eclipse will be seen throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, western North America, eastern South America, and across the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic, and Antarctica.
Pakistan will also be one of the nations where the eclipse can be watched in all its brilliance, provided that the weather allows.
