The situation escalated today after Pakistan neutralized around 25 drones sent by India in several cities, mostly in Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Chakwal, and Attock.
Earlier, all private and public educational institutions were closed on Wednesday, May 7, after India attacked several cities with missiles on the night of May 6 and 7.
The government also postponed all the examinations of BISES/Universities/Colleges in Punjab scheduled to be held on May 7.
As the situation remained normal on late Wednesday, the Punjab government ordered that educational institutions would remain open on Thursday across the province.
However, in the wee hours of Thursday, several explosions were heard in parts of Lahore, prompting authorities to close schools in the provincial capital.
Later, the military’s spokesperson confirmed that a drone was crashed in Lahore’s Walton Road area, injuring four personnel of the Pakistan Army.
As the situation gets tense within Pakistan and at border areas, there are speculations that the government can declare holidays in educational institutions to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and other non-teaching staff.
