ISLAMABAD: US Senior Bureau Official Eric Meyer addressed the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 in Islamabad, highlighting the importance of critical minerals for technological advancements and praising Pakistan for creating a level playing field for investors.
At the occasion, Meyer emphasized the significance of the U.S.-Pakistan partnership, citing recent successes in economic cooperation.
He stated that he is thrilled to be here in Islamabad to experience Pakistan’s wonderful hospitality, attend the Minerals Investment Forum, and strengthen and promote our important partnership.
Although we’re in Islamabad to focus on minerals, I also want to highlight other recent successes in our economic partnership. We recently celebrated the return of U.S. soybean exports to Pakistan, Meyer added.
Additionally, Eric stated that four vessels carrying more than 260,000 tons of soybeans have arrived over the last few weeks. It’s a win-win for U.S. exporters and Pakistanis alike, and we look forward to more such wins in the future.
This development benefits both US exporters and Pakistani consumers. Meyer also underscored the strong people-to-people ties between the two nations, noting that many Pakistanis have studied in the US, participated in exchange programs, or have family and business connections there.
Meyer expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential, looking forward to working with Pakistani counterparts to further strengthen ties between the two nations.
He concluded his remarks by expressing gratitude in Urdu, saying “Shukria!” emphasizing the warm relations between the US and Pakistan.
