Iffat Omar refuses Punjab Govt’s offer of Culture adviser

Iffat Omar refuses Punjab Govt's offer of Culture adviser

LAHORE: In a recent development Iffat Omar, a veteran model and performer, has graciously refused the offer from the Punjab government to serve as cultural adviser to the province’s Information Minister, Azma Bokhari.

“I’ve humbly declined the offer,” Omar revealed, despite claims spreading across media sites and social platforms that she had accepted the position.

The proposed post was intended to engage her in developing measures to promote and preserve Punjab’s rich cultural history.

Omar’s statement comes amid a rising public debate about celebrities’ engagement in government-sponsored cultural programs. While the Punjab government has not issued an official statement on the subject, the stories have stirred both curiosity and criticism.

Previously, the Punjab government appointed Iffat Omar as its cultural advisor. After being entrusted with an important responsibility, she would work for the revival and promotion of cultural activities across the province.
