LAHORE: In the second semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy, New Zealand has set a huge target of 363 runs for South Africa to win in the match being played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first and put on a brilliant batting display. Rachan Ravindra and Kane Williamson played a key role by putting on a 164-run partnership for the second wicket.
Rachan Ravindra scored a brilliant 108 runs, which included a six and 13 fours. Kane Williamson also played the captain’s innings, scoring 102 runs, which included 2 sixes and 10 fours.
Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips provided valuable partnership towards the end of the innings. Mitchell scored 49 runs before being dismissed, while Phillips remained not out on 49 runs.
The Kiwis finished their innings at 362 for 6 in 50 overs, leaving South Africa chasing a tough target of 363.
Meanwhile, India have already booked their place in the final by defeating Australia in the first semi-final. All eyes are now on which team — New Zealand or South Africa — will face India in the final.
