FIFA World Cup official anthem released

ISLAMABAD: Colombian singer Shakira has released the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, “Die Die,” featuring Nigerian singer Burna Boy.

The 49-year-old singer released a video from Brazil’s historic Maracana Stadium, which shows dancers dressed in the colors of different countries’ teams. The song will be released on May 14.

The 2026 World Cup will be held jointly in Mexico, the United States and Canada from June 11 to July 19.

The video also features the official balls of the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups, reminiscent of tournaments where Shakira played a prominent role with her music.

These include her famous song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which was the official anthem of the 2010 World Cup.

Shakira has previously performed popular songs such as Hips Don’t Lie and La La La (Brazil 2014) at World Cup events.
