MUMBAI: Former Indian Test wicketkeeper KS Bharat, who retired from international cricket a few days ago, has been included in the team for the UAE domestic tournament.
Former Indian wicketkeeper KS Bharat has been included in the team “Stallions” for the domestic tournament to be held in the United Arab Emirates.
This development has come after he announced his retirement from international cricket a few days ago.
KS Bharat played 7 Test matches for India between 2023 and 2024, in which he was mostly a part of the team in the absence of Rishabh Pant.
He scored 221 runs in these 7 Test matches at an average of 20.09, in which his highest score was 44 runs. He has not been included in the national team since February 2024.
K.S. Bharat had announced his retirement a few days ago that representing India has been the “biggest honour” of his life. The journey has been tough but worth every moment.
Soon after his retirement, he has been named in Team Stallions for the two-day championship in the UAE, which will feature the best players from the region.
The tournament aims to hone players’ skills and mindset for the long format of cricket.
Each match will be played over two days, with 80 overs per day, with points awarded for a win, a 10-wicket win or an innings lead.
The tournament began on June 19 and will consist of a total of 7 matches, with the final on July 4.
K.S. Bharat will serve as wicketkeeper in the tournament.
