ICC releases new T20I rankings, WI batters dominates

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest rankings of T20 players, in which West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase has achieved a career-best position due to his outstanding performance.

Roston Chase played a brilliant innings of 60 runs in the first T20 match against Australia, while scoring 76 runs in two matches in total. Due to this performance, he has reached the second position in the T20 all-rounders’ rankings, which is the highest ranking of his career.

On the other hand, West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Shai Hope has also made a huge leap in the T20 rankings. He played a smoky innings of 55 runs off 39 balls in the first match against Australia and reached the tenth position in the batsmen’s list.

Australia’s Mitchell Marsh has reached the 23rd position after improving by three places, while West Indies’ Brendon King has moved up four places to 30th.

Bangladesh’s Tanzeed Hasan has moved up 18 places to 37th and his batting partner Tohid Hardoy has moved up two places to 39th.

Pakistani opener Fakhar Zaman has also made significant progress, moving up eight places to 79th. Australia’s Cameron Green has moved up 34 places to 88th.

In the bowling rankings, Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman has moved up 17 places to 9th, while his compatriot Mehdi Hasan has moved up 16th, Tanzeem Hasan Saqib has moved up 37th and Sharaful Islam has moved up 43rd.

Pakistan’s young spinner Abrar Ahmed has also shown impressive performance, moving up 12 places to 49th in the T20 bowlers’ rankings.

The majority of players who have shown significant improvement in this latest ICC ranking are from the West Indies, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who have performed well in recent T20 competitions.
