India approached Pakistan to train its fast bowlers, reveals Aqib Javed

LAHORE: Former Pakistani fast bowler and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director of High Performance Aqib Javed has revealed that India has approached Pakistan to train and mentor its fast bowlers.

Aqib Javed said this in a podcast uploaded on the PCB’s official channel. In the podcast, he also discussed the future of Pakistan cricket, high-performance structure, training programs, and other aspects.

He said that the PCB’s Overseas Players Program provides coaching and training opportunities in Pakistan to players from all over the world.

Under this program, players from the Netherlands and England also came to Pakistan recently.

Aqib said that until we challenge ourselves, we will not know where we stand at the international level, how strong our coaches and our system are.

He said that under this program, we have received calls from India to mentor fast bowlers.

The podcast host commented that Indian and Pakistani players usually don’t even shake hands with each other, to which Aqib Javed laughed and said that ordinary people think differently, while the bureaucracy (administration) takes a different approach.
