CALIFORNIA: Apple is reportedly planning a colorful twist for next year’s flagship iPhones. According to a new leak, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could arrive in three all-new shades that break from Apple’s traditional palette.
It also allegedly reveals that Apple is testing Coffee, Purple, and Burgundy color options for its 2026 high-end models.
These names are translations from Chinese and might not be the final marketing terms, but they could give a hint regarding the potential Apple color direction. “Coffee” could indeed be a rich brown tone, while “Burgundy” may equate to a dark red finish; neither color has ever been used in the iPhone series thus far.
Apple has released purple-toned iPhones in the past, most recently with the iPhone 14, but the other two colors seem to be totally new for its premium model line.

No black option again for iPhone 18 Pro
The leak suggests that Apple may follow its recent trend of skipping a traditional black variant for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. This year’s iPhone 17 Pro models, on the other hand, came in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue and highlighted Apple’s latest move towards bold, metallic finishes.
If this new report is true, those users who prefer a darker option may have to settle for Coffee or Burgundy instead of the usual Black Titanium finish.
What to expect from the iPhone 18 lineup
So far, only a few iPhone 18 rumors have surfaced — understandable given that Apple’s latest iPhone 17 series launched just this September. However, insiders expect Apple to retain four flagship models in 2026, possibly alongside a more affordable iPhone 17e.
Industry chatter is also hinting that Apple will rework its launch cadence next year. The base iPhone 18 and the iPhone Air 2 would appear in March 2026, possibly followed by the Pro and Pro Max models in September.
The move would spread out product launches throughout the year — a strategy likely designed to boost sales and keep excitement high among consumers.
According to the unofficial sales data, the standard iPhone 17 remains the top-selling model of the September lineup, showing strong demand for the base variant. Although nothing is confirmed, over the course of the next few months, expect more leaks related to the design, specifications, and hardware upgrades of the iPhone 18.
