Four medals for Pakistan at World Nuclear Science Olympiad

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistani students clinch four medals at the 2nd International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO-2025).

The medal tally includes a gold, a silver, and two bronze medals, highlighting Pakistan’s strength in nuclear science education.

Students from 19 countries, including China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Türkiye, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, participated in the event organised under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Muhammad Tayyab Bukhari of Beaconhouse School Abbottabad clinched the gold medal, followed by a silver medal secured by  Ammar Asad Warraich from Siddique Public School Islamabad.

Tatheer Aima Naqvi from Chenab College Jhang and Rawah Javed from Siddique Public School outshone with a bronze medal.

Dr. Muhammad Maqsood from the Directorate of Education, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), and Dr. Sajjad Tahir from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) served as mentors to the team.

This achievement demonstrates Pakistan’s increasing focus on scientific education and the contribution of organizations like PIEAS and PAEC to the development of fresh talent. It also highlights the nation’s growing involvement in international scientific forums and its dedication to advancing nuclear science’s peaceful applications in business, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
